SAUDI ARAMCO RAS TANURA REFINERY CLEAN FUEL AND AROMATICS PROJECT (CFAP) CORROSION MANAGEMENT PROGRA

Developed a Corrosion Management Program (CMP) (Risk Based Inspection, Mechanical Integrity, Corrosion Assessment) for the Install North Sour Water Stripper – Ras Tanura Refinery Project as per SAEP-14 requirements in accordance with Section 8 of Saudi Aramco Engineering Standard SAES-L-133.

SYNCRUDE CANADA INC. AMMONIA DESTRUCTION UNIT RAM STUDY

Executed Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) Analysis to evaluate On-Stream Factor (OSF) of four different equipment configurations (i.e. combustor, waste heat boiler, stack) to consume ammonia (NH3) gas from the Sour Water Stripper.

GAP ANALYSIS FOR IMPROVING MAINTENANCE & RELIABILITY ORG. EFFECTIVENESS FOR CANADIAN REFINERYY

Assessed current level of the Maintenance and Reliability Organizational Effectiveness, specifically pertaining to rotating equipment, to identify opportunities for improvement by providing prioritized solutions recommendations. Gap Analysis targeted performance in Schedule Compliance, Proactive Work, and Overtime.

NEXEN LONG LAKE UPGRADER CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE

Developed major, minor, and removal corrective maintenance procedures, with detailed checksheets, for 20 rotating equipment bad actors.

NATIONAL COOPERATIVE REFINERY ASSOCIATION RISK BASED INSPECTION (RBI) PROGRAM

Developed work instructions and provided technical expertise in corrosion management and failure analyses for the development of a risk-based inspection program for fixed equipment and piping utilizing Lloyd’s Register Energy RBMI Software. The RBI Program was developed in accordance with API RP 580.

NATIONAL COOPERATIVE REFINERY ASSOCIATION OSHA MECHANICAL INTEGRITY RULE

Developed management systems for compliance with the elements of US Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Mechanical Integrity Rule: inspection & testing, equipment deficiencies.

HUSKY ENERGY LLOYDMINSTER REFINERY CORROSION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Optimized, monitored and managed the chemical programs designed for corrosion, scaling, and fouling reduction within the HP boiler operating units and within the pre-treatment, condensate, and cooling water systems. Also commissioned with: performance evaluations for operating equipment; monitoring program development; and troubleshooting analyses for process corrosion/ scaling/ fouling.

HUSKY ENERGY LLOYDMINSTER REFINERY CORROSION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Reviewed and assessed the corrosion and fouling mitigation, monitoring and inspection programs for the crude and vacuum units and cooling water system, and identified areas of improvement. Assessed the impact to the equipment reliability and integrity upon a 10-15% plant throughput increase, and updated the risk-based inspection program. Investigated the failure of a crude unit overhead exchanger.

SHELL SCOTFORD UPGRADER CORROSION AND FOULING PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

Reviewed the residue hydroconversion (RHC) unit, heavy oil stripper, and hydrotreater operations and indicated areas of the operation that were at risk due to the following operational problems: 1) foaming and emulsions; and 2) corrosion and fouling. The problem mechanisms were identified and monitoring protocols were recommended. Typical applications used to mitigate these risks were also provided.

THE HUSKY LLOYDMINSTER UPGRADER (HLU) AMINE SYSTEM RELIABILITY & INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT

Conducted study of the equipment deterioration within the Loop 1 (L1) & Loop 2 (L2) DGA Amine Systems and provided recommendations that significantly improved the reliability and integrity management of these two amine systems. The study involved utilization of Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) and OLI Corrosion Analyzer to assess erosion-corrosion rates and locations susceptible to deterioration.

MARATHON PETROLEUM COMPANY L.P. COST OF OWNERSHIP ANALYSIS

Executed a Cost of Ownership Analysis (COA) for FCCU3 401-J MAB / 402-J WGC Controls and Drive (TAR) Project. This analysis was developed for two solutions options (Option 1 and 2) and the “Do Nothing” Case. Option 1: New Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) Drive and consolidated control system; Option 2: New MAB system, WGC motors and gear boxes, reused/ refurbished WGC, and consolidated control system.
